Uniqlo opened their first-ever standalone roadside outlet at Damansara Avenue today and looks like people got a bit too excited.

Videos and pictures of large crowds gathered outside the store were shared on social media with many jokingly (or maybe seriously) commenting that it could be the start of a new Uniqlo cluster.

Halted for sanitisation

According to a report by Malaysiakini, things got so out of hand that the authorities dropped by and temporarily closed the whole premises to ensure that sanitisation was done.

They were also there to ensure that SOPs were followed.

We love Uniqlo too but people, do remember that there's a pandemic happening.

If you want to go have a look and already notice a crowd, maybe better to turn back for now?

You know how Malaysians are right?

It will be all the rage for a few days and then people will start getting less excited.

Just ask yourselves, is a goody bag or discounts really worth the risk of being infected with COVID-19?
