Experts keep saying that times are bad, but clearly, it is not the case for everyone.

While most of us are keeping aside whatever extra income for a rainy day, this 30-year-old woman from Kelantan is spending big bucks on a tudung.

How much exactly? She actually spent RM75,000 for the specially designed item.

According to Utusan Malaysia, quoting a report by Mingguan Malaysia, the woman ordered the item from Bawal Exclusive last year.

Boutique founder and owner Haliza Mahsuri said that it was supposed to be completed much earlier but was pun on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

An exclusive design.

Detailed design

“Our client’s wish will be fulfilled this Raya in May as she has made an appointment to collect her order this week, ” she told the daily.

The shawl has special marine-inspired motifs and has a light blue background to reflect the owner's career.

She owns a seafood restaurant.

Glittering away.

The shawl was designed by Megan Carter, an expert with over 30 years of experience attached with Swarovski in Austria.

Custom-made shawls usually take between one to three months to complete.

This isn't Bawal Exclusive's most expensive custom-made order though.

They had previously sold a tudung for RM100,000.

As pretty as it is, we'd probably not spend so much money on a piece of cloth.

Would you?
