In the weirdest plot twist ever, a wedding in Gujerat, India had to be cancelled after the bride’s mother and the groom’s father decided to elope.

According to the Times of India, both families have since filed missing persons reports for the 48-year-old textile businessman and the 46-year-old woman.

The bride and groom, who are both from Gujerat, had planned for their big day for the last year and were scheduled to tie the knot early February.

Plans put to a stop

The couple, however, decided to call things off following their parent’s sudden disappearance on January 10.

According to the report, the man and the woman were neighbours and childhood friends.

A relative later revealed that the two were involved in a relationship in the past.
