Climate Change Reportedly Killed 200 Reindeer In Svalbard Recently
Global warming and climate change have been doing more damage to the environment more than you can imagine.
Last week, it was reported that sighseers spotted dozens of dead beached whales during a helicopter flight over western Iceland.

According to a report by AFP, three researchers from the Norwegian Polar Institute found the deer carcasses during their annual census.
Head of the census Ashild Onvik Pedersen told the news agency that the “high degree of mortality” was a consequence of climate change.
“Climate change is making it rain much more. The rain falls on the snow and forms a layer of ice on the tundra, making grazing conditions very poor for animals,” she was quoted as saying.
In winter, Svalbard reindeer find vegetation in the snow using their hooves, but alternating freezing and thawing periods can create layers of impenetrable ice, depriving the reindeers of nourishment.
The rise in the mortality rate is also due to a significant increase in the number of reindeer in the Norwegian archipelago, because climate change and the warmer summers mean more competition for food.
It is high time for us to take care of the environment, because our animal friends are paying the price for our ignorance.
