By now we all have heard how the popular Taman Tasik Titiwangsa recently underwent a stunning transformation.

The recreational park opened its doors to the public at the end of last year after the renovation works were completed.

However, it has now been closed to the public beginning May 28.

The Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) said it decided to close the park as there have been too many visitors since the loosening of restrictions under the Conditional Movement Control Order (MCO).

“This is to prevent any outbreak of COVID-19 because of the high number of people visiting the park.

“However, jogging activities are still allowed outside and around the park,” DBKL said in a statement, as quoted in a report by The Star.

It's not only a crowd problem

Not only have people been visiting the park in droves, some even disobeyed the rules and SOPs set by the Health Ministry.

"Some families visited the park to have picnics, which is not allowed, and some even cut our yellow tape around playground sets for their children to play in.

"Our officers will be monitoring the other parks in the city and if we find similar behaviour, we will have no choice but to close those parks as well," a SBKL spokesperson told The Star.

That's why la. If you're given a little bit of freedom, don't misuse it!

Learn k. Learn.
