Remember how the peeps on top repetitively announced that we have more than enough COVID-19 vaccines?

Also, remember how a lot of sceptics went "yeah right?".

Looks like the sceptics have won this time, folks.

The second phase of the National COVID-19 Immunisation Programme in Sibu hit a snag today (20 April) due to a lack of vaccines.

According to a report by The Star, the whole phase has been postponed for now.

Postponed until further notice

Vaccination done.

The report detailed that on Monday, which was the first day of the phase, a total of 924 senior citizens aged 75 and above were innoculated with the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine.

A total of 140 frontliners also received the vaccines on that day.

The second day (Tuesday, 20 April) didn't go well at all as new supplies never came.

"The vaccination programme for Tuesday has been postponed until further notice, which will be issued later through the MySejahtera app.

The postponement was made as the vaccination centre has yet to receive the vaccine," said Sibu division health officer Dr Teh Jo Hun.

A waiting game

New appointment date through app.

Dr Teh said that those who have registered for the vaccine will get a new appointment date now.

They will have to check their status through the MySejahtera App.

It's definitely got to be slightly frustrating to get news like this but all we can do is hang in there.

As for those in charge, do better please.

We've got a whole country waiting to be vaccinated.
