We are Day 13 into the Movement Control Order (MCO), and it looks like the war against COVID-19 is far from over.

Orange zones on the rise

According to Malay Mail, Putrajaya and Pekan in Pahang are now classified as COVID-19 Orange Zones.

The classification came after the Health Ministry released their latest data on Sunday (29 March).

The Orange Zone is one category below the Red Zone, and an area is considered an Orange Zone when it has more than 20 recorded COVID-19 cases.

Putrajaya now reportedly has 22 cases and Pekan has 20.


In total, there are 12 Orange Zones nationwide, Kementerian Kesihatan says. The 12 zones are:
 

• Batu Pahat in Johor (36)
• Lahad Datu in Sabah (34)
• Kota Kinabalu in Sabah (30)
• Seberang Perai Tengah in Penang (30)
• Kuala Muda in Kedah (30)
• Cheras in Kuala Lumpur (28)
• Timur Laut in Penang (27)
• Jerantut in Pahang (27)
• Rembau in Negri Sembilan (26)
• Putrajaya (22)
• Kota Setar in Kedah (22)
• Pekan in Pahang (20)

With that number, Malaysia now has only 34 districts that are free of reported infections, and hopefully, we will find a way to keep it that way.

No new Red Zones (yay!)

Despite that, there's a little bit of good news on the Red Zone front.

As of 29 March, there are no new Red Zones added into the map. There are currently 15 red zones in the country (an area is marked as a Red Zone if it has more than 40 recorded cases):

• Lembah Pantai (219)
• Hulu Langat (209)
• Seremban (108)
• Johor Bahru (105)
• Kluang (97)
• Kuching (78)
• Kota Bahru (76)
• Kinta (75)
• Kepong (68)
• Klang (62)
• Gombak (59)
• Titiwangsa (57)
• Tawau (57)
• Hilir Perak (52)

According to the data from KKM, the cases from these 15 Red Zones account for 1,545 cases reported nationwide, which is around 60 per cent of the total cases.

Let's hope there are no new Red Zones from now onwards. So, do your part and stay at home, guys!
