Dr Noor Hisham: Government May End CMCO In Two Weeks, But On One Condition
On Saturday (7 November), the government announced that they are reinstating the conditional movement control order (CMCO) across all but three states in Peninsular Malaysia.
The CMCO will last through 6 December, but the government may decide to end the CMCO early...if they fulfil one important criteria.
Health director general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham said on Tuesday (10 November) that the government may consider rescinding the CMCO if the majority of the red zones in the country revert back to green status.

Health director general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham said on Tuesday (10 November) that the government may consider rescinding the CMCO if the majority of the red zones in the country revert back to green status.The time frame for this is two weeks, Malay Mail reported.
Dr Noor Hisham revealed that a majority of the red zones are located in the Klang Valley, Penang, Perak and Negri Sembilan.
The Health Ministry is monitoring these states, Dr Noor Hisham said, and if there's a decline in COVID-19 cases in these states within the fortnight, the CMCO will be lifted.
“Our focus is on these states. If there is a drop in new COVID-19 cases in these areas, and they slowly turn from red zones to green zones in the next two weeks, we may lift the CMCO earlier than the four weeks we implemented,” he was quoted as saying.
In order to achieve this, Dr Noor Hisham has reminded Malaysians to stay home for two weeks to break the COVID-19 chain.The current CMCO has reduced the infectivity rate in the country, he revealed, as the R0 or R-naught rate has dropped from 2.2 on 20 September to below 1.0 this week.
Whatever we are doing now is working, so guys; let's continue to sit at home for another two weeks and break the chain.
