It's finally happening, guys!

Since the beginning of time, we Malaysians want only one thing: cheaper, faster internet.

Looks like our wish has just come true, boys and girls.

The government announced on Wednesday that Malaysians can expect cheaper broadband internet by year's end.

Communications and Multimedia Minister Gobind Singh Deo told The Star Online that the government has just implemented and enforced the Mandatory Standard on Access Pricing (MSAP) to regulate the prices of broadband internet in Malaysia.

As such, broadband prices will see at least a 25 per cent drop.

So excited!
Gobind revealed that the relevant parties are still discussing the wholesale prices for broadband internet and the process is scheduled to be completed by July or August.

After that, "new, lower priced broadband packages will be rolled out to consumers", Gobind said.

And that's not all; Gobind told the news portal that the government is also considering recognising access to Internet as a basic human right in Malaysia, and maybe in the future, a constitutional right.

What do you guys think? Are you guys excited? We for one can't wait to download all the series stream our favourite movies on Astro GO with our cheaper, faster internet.
