If you recently received SMS or WhatsApp from Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) conducting surveys, don’t worry about the authenticity of the messages.

They are definitely not spam!

MCMC has announced that it will be conducting four surveys via WhatsApp and SMS to random Malaysians.

The Star reported that the four surveys would be the Hand Phone Users Survey, E-commerce Consumers Survey, Consumer Satisfaction Survey (Broadband Service), and Consumer Satisfaction Survey (Mobile-Cellular Service).

Only two phone numbers will be used for the survey - 017-728 6262 and 017-364 6262.

If the calls come from any number other than these two, you can be assured that they are not from MCMC.

Rewards for providing input

If you are among the first 10,000 recipients to complete the survey, you will receive an RM5 e-voucher as a token of appreciation.

"If you are in any doubt, ask the interviewer which organisation they are from, their full name and interviewer code. Then arrange a time for them to call you back," MCMC said in a notice.

Those affected are urged to contact MCMC's Statistic and Data Intelligence Dept through the number 03-8688 8000 to verify the legitimacy of the call.
