The Grim Story Behind This Storage Container Parked Outside Sg Buloh Hospital
We may not be able to see it, but the COVID-19 situation in the country is pretty dire.
But if you need a visual reminder, let this picture of a container be it.

A very grim reminder

However, this is not your usual container, though.
This container is now being used as a makeshift morgue for patients who succumbed to COVID-19.
Not your average shipping container. On Sunday (16 May), the official Ministry of Health (MOH) Twitter account shared several photos of a container that the Sungai Buloh Hospital is using to store bodies of dead COVID-19 patients.
The pictures are a grim reminder that the the situation is so bad, the hospital’s forensic medicine department was forced to use a shipping container as an additional morgue.
According to MOH, the hospital recorded six more deaths on Sunday, and the figure will continue to rise if we do not take the SOPs seriously.
"More than 80 per cent of deaths from Covid-19 infection in this country is made up of the elderly and those who have more than one chronic disease or are comorbid.
"Most of them get infected from close family members. If you live with those who are of high risk, protect yourself to enable you to protect them," the Ministry wrote.

Rising death cases

Malaysia has seen a sudden spike in the number of COVID-19-related deaths recently.
As of Sunday (16 May), Malaysia has recorded a total of 1,902 deaths in the country. On Saturday (15 May), we recorded the highest number of deaths in a single day with 44.
COVID-19 is no longer a laughing matter, you guys. The number of deaths are piling up, so it's high time we really take care of ourselves.
