How far will you go for a selfie? For some, the afterlife.

We know that researchers have concluded that obsessive selfie takers might be suffering from some sort of mental disorder, but there are those who actually died because of selfies!

(Take lah, take somemore selfies lah!)

According to a recent study by the Carnegie Mellon University in the United States, a total of 127 selfie-related deaths were reported between March 2014 and September 2016.

The study also revealed that more than 60 per cent of these cases happened in this one country.

And no, it's not Malaysia.

We don't need this record.
The researchers found that 76 of the reported 127 cases happened in India during that period of time.

This 'death by selfie' issue has become so bad that, in fact, the police are considering declaring 15 spots in the city of Mumbai as 'selfie-free points'.

What about Malaysia though?

Well, we do have our share of selfie-related deaths.

According to a report by the Malay Mail Online, a total of six deaths were recorded in Malysia since March 2014.

Last September, Bernama reported that a 20-year-old fell guy to his death when he tried to scale a wall on the 16th floor of a Genting Highlands hotel just to take a selfie.

Then, more recently, a Malaysian student also fell to his death in Taipei while taking selfies dressed in a Spider-Man costume.

Listen to your Spider-sense, guys.
We can't believe we're saying this, but please be responsible while you're out there taking selfies.
