All hail the greatest!

What do Michael Jordan and our very own Nicol David have in common?

Well, both have been regarded the greatest of all time in their respective sport.

Yup, that's right; our reigning squash queen has been voted as the greatest female player to ever play the sport of squash.

All together now!
The Professional Squash Association’s PSA World Tour revealed the awesome news on their website on Sunday.

The website ran a poll throughout the month of August and thousands of squash fans and players around the globe picked the 35-year-old as the G.O.A.T..

Great choice, squash fans.

According to the website, the Penangite is the first squash player ever, male or female, to win the World Junior title twice.

Not only that, she's also the longest reigning world number one in the history of the sport.

David held the top spot for a jaw-dropping 109 consecutive months from 2006 to 2015 and during that time, she won (take a deep breath for this, guys) the World Championship title eight times, PSA World Tour titles 81 times, four Asian Games gold medals and two Commonwealth Games gold medals.

Also, she went on a 56-match unbeaten run during that period of time. Really, if she's not the greatest of all time, we don't know who is.

After the news broke, an overwhelmed David took to her Twitter page to thank her fans:

You deserve all the recognition, Nicol David. We are extremely proud of you.
