The Orang Asli community is one of the worst hit by the Movement Control Order (MCO) as most of them are daily-wage workers, subsistence farmer, rubber and oil palm smallholders, disabled, elderly or have lost their sources of income for various other reasons.

To assist the Orang Asli who are unable to work or sell their produces through this time, Center for Orang Asli Concerns (COAC), Raleigh International Kuala Lumpur (RIKL) and Impian Malaysia (IM) have come up with a COVID-19 Orang Asli Fund.

This fund will run until 14 April, or longer if the MCO is extended.

Money for essential items

The money goes towards buying essentials such as grocery items and medical supplies for the community, as well as other urgent expenses.


So far, the organisations running the fund have collected RM132,945.59 and distributed RM118,002.80 to 2,006 households in at least 52 villages across peninsular Malaysia.

There are more villages that need help and have approached the organisations for help. As such, more money is needed to provide the necessary for the communities severely affected by MCO.

The organisations are quite transparent about the funds collected and distributed.

Once you have made a donation, your name will be added to a donor's list, which is made public. You will receive a receipt and a report will be published at the end of the campaign.
