Think you outsmarted the cops by pretending your "sick aunt" needs immediate care JUST to get a permit to cross borders and beraya in your kampung?

Well, the abang polis may have the last laugh in the end.

According to Bukit Aman Internal Security and Public Order Department director Abd Rahim Jaafar, the police may just drop by for a surprise visit during Raya celebrations.

Surprise visits by the cops.

“We will conduct inspections on whether they have approval letters to travel.

"Inspections will be done according to several aspects, including the number of vehicles at a certain house,” explained Abd Rahim as reported by Free Malaysia Today.

Making use of the opportunity

Abd Rahim said that while it was extremely difficult to get a police permit, others were crossing borders by sneaking through during opportune times.

“They might get through. Sometimes it’s not because of their letters but because they’re lucky when there is heavy rain and the relaxation could be exploited in that sense.

“Our personnel might not be on duty during heavy rain because it endangers them so they have to seek shelter. That is when these people may make their move,” he said.

So if you're still thinking of chancing it, we'd advise you to think again.

The last thing you want during Raya is to deal with a huge fine or be sitting behind bars.

Also, there's a pandemic happening. People are dying. Just stay at home lah.
