Relaxed MCO regulations have seen more cars on the road and more people roaming about freely.

A reminder, though: the virus is still out there!

Recently, the Health Ministry announced that they have identified a new COVID-19 cluster and this time it is at a mall in Cheras.

According to The Edge Markets, health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the new cluster was mostly among security guards at the mall.

Close contacts also being tested

Dr Noor Hisham told the news portal that 436 people had been screened, with 10 people testing positive and 79 still awaiting results.

“The 10 positive cases reported from this cluster involve nine Nepali citizens and one Malaysian. The source of infection for the cluster is still under investigation,” he said.

According to the Health Ministry, all the nine workers live in the same dwelling in Cheras.

Dr Noor Hisham added that all workers at the mall and their close contacts were in the process of being screened by officials.

The Ministry has yet to identify the cause of the infection, so if possible, try to avoid going to shopping malls for the time being.
