If you ever wonder why we sometimes don't listen to people very well, there's now an explanation for that.

And it's not good news.

A recent study from hear.com found that approximately two million Malaysians suffer from hearing problems.

What's even more alarming, according to the study quoted by Astro Awani, there is an increase in hearing problems for those aged between 35 to 45-year-old, due to their daily activities.

The study proves that hearing problems could occur at any age and not just limited to those above 65.

Sorry, can't hear.
This not only affects their productivity at work, said hear.com managing director Alexander Evertz, but it also distresses the relationship with surrounding people.

He further added that people must move away from the perception that only old folks will have hearing problems, and we have to take preventive measures from now to combat hearing problems in the future.

Among the factors that contribute to hearing problems apart from the environmental factors at work, Alexandar revealed, are ageing, infection, trauma and the side effects of certain types of medications.

There's no mention if constant nagging from a spouse contributes to hearing problems, but we think it does.
