Here's How to Get Free Health Screenings under Perkeso
We’re blessed to live in a country where healthcare is extremely affordable (*coughs* unlike the US).
You may feel perfectly well, but carrying out health screenings are also important to everyone as it can detect disease early in people who do not show any signs and/or symptoms of illness or disease.
Thankfully, the Social Security Organisation (SOCSO/PERKESO) is offering a free Health Screening Program 3.0 (HSP) among eligible SOCSO Insured Persons.
This aims to identify high risk groups for Non-Communicable Diseases (e.g., diabetes, high blood pressure, cancer, and the risk of heart disease).
It also includes physical checkups, medical advice, and mental checkups.
According to Mayo Clinic, most adults require an annual checkup, and there should never be more than three years between checkups.
The HSP program was first introduced in 2013, and the updated version was available from 16 May 2023 onwards and is offered as part of the Matching Grant allocation by the Government for 2023.
Who are eligible for the program?
- Malaysians
- Aged between 40 and 59 years old.
- An active SOCSO contributor under the Invalidity Scheme (has at least one (1) month of contribution in the current year).
- Has at least 12 months of total contributions under the Invalidity Scheme.
- The program is also open to individuals who have previously undergone the HSP.
How do you check on your eligibility?
To check on your eligibility and undergo health screening under the HSP 3.0, employees need to download the SEHATi mobile app via Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
You can also use the app to make a health screening appointment and assess the results of your health screening. After you’ve downloaded the app, carry out the following steps:
- Register as a user on the SEHATi app and see if you’re eligibile.
- Choose the standard package for health screenings.
- Make a health screening appointment through a HSP panel clinic.
- Fill in the pre-appraisal questions and DASS-21 before heading to the clinic.
