"He’s getting fit and making money" – M'sian Carries Backpack Full of Ice & Drinks Up Bukit Tok Kun to Sell to Hikers
Although hiking has become a popular trend among many Malaysians especially the younger generation, you have to admit, it’s not an activity for everyone. But for one Malaysian man, not only did he make it look easy, he also managed to turn it into a business opportunity.
In a TikTok video, another visitor captured an unexpected scene, a man selling cold drinks in plastic bags right at the summit of Bukit Tok Kun.
According to the visitor, he first noticed the man hiking with a huge backpack. Initially, he assumed the man was training to become a mountain porter.
To his surprise, when he reached the summit, he saw the same man selling ice-cold drinks in plastic bags. It turns out the large backpack contained an ice container filled with bottled beverages like tea and green milk tea.
Image Credit: @kaki_jalann | TikTokIt’s understood that the drinks were sold for RM5 each. The man, later identified as Safiq Azman, is a regular hiker. However, at the time the video was recorded, it was his first attempt at selling drinks at the summit of Bukit Tok Kun.
In a post on his TikTok, Safiq shared that he plans to sell more drinks in the future and hopes to do so regularly on weekends.
Needless to say, netizens were impressed by Safiq’s dedication.
“I already felt like dying when I hiked to the summit, but this man carried a whole bag of ice up there! That’s awesome! He’s getting fit and making money at the same time.”
