As we all know, the COVID-19 pandemic has hit many people hard financially what with job cuts and retrenchment.

However, a family based in Jemapoh, has persevered through it by starting a backyard pizza business.

Delicious pizzas.

According to a report in AFP, Raudhah Hassan, 35, came up with the idea to start the business after her headscarves business failed to generate income and her siblings underwent pay cuts.

The report said the business turned out to be a hit.

"We did this to get some pocket money.

"But -- praise be to God -- what we did has become the talk of the town,” Raudhah told AFP.

Booming business

The report said that in order to churn out wood fire pizzas, the family had to build a stone oven in their backyard.

Among the pizzas offered include those with herbs and spices, cut pineapples mixed with meat or tuna, along with cheese.

The business became such a success that the family has now opened a shop with 20 staff.

Wishing you guys all the best!
