It looks like finance and money has been the top things that were on Malaysians’ minds throughout year 2021.

This has been revealed in Google's Year in Search for Malaysia.

According to a report in Mashable SEA, the focus of the search was on the financial aid by the local Employee's Provident Fund (EPF), especially in light of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The number one trending search term for Malaysia on Google was ‘i-Sinar’.

The searches also included non-financial related items such as ‘Euro 2021’ which made the second place and ‘Popcat’ which made the third place.

‘English Premier League’ took the sixth place while "Google Meet" appeared in seventh place.

Not surprisingly, ‘Squid Game’ was the tenth most searched word on Google by Malaysians.
