A popular Indonesian vlogger landed himself in hot soup recently after posting about a hand-written business-class menu of the country’s national airline, Garuda.

According to a report in Straits Times, Rius Vernandes posted an Instagram video showing the menu written on a piece of notebook paper with the caption, ‘The menu is still being printed, sir.’

The YouTuber was reportedly given the hand-written menu as there were no proper printed ones to be handed out.

The post went viral on social media and Indonesian social media users bashed the airline for such a conduct.

In retaliation, the airline filed a defamation case against Vernandes and said the handwritten menu was made by a cabin crew member for personal use and not intended to be handed out to passengers.

Vernandes later confirmed that he received a summons from the police in connection with the post.

Semua nya. Siapa pun. Kalian semua punya suara. Terutama teman2 influencer.

“We’ve been reported for defamation. I’m sure you know I had no intention whatsoever to defame anyone.

“I hope you can support me because I don’t want anyone to be prosecuted for an honest review and constructive criticism,” he said on Instagram.

Well, who do you support in this issue?
