Indonesia Considering Cutting Down 2021 Holidays To Prevent COVID-19 Spread
In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, Indonesia is planning to cut down the number of public holidays in the country.
According to a report by Mashable SEA, the country has already slashed several public holidays and is now planning to cut them down even further.
Quoting Indonesia’s Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Muhadjir Effendy, the report said that the consideration is being made to prevent high infection numbers.
Less cuti to curb rising COVID-19 numbers
He said the decision would be made soon.
Prior to this, the nation cut down the number of collective leave or ‘cuti bersama’, which is additional holidays that supplement major national holidays, from seven to just two.
