Your bank account is happy now.

If you're finding it hard to repay your National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) loan because you have lousy pay, the government has come in to save the day.

PTPTN chairman Wan Saiful Wan Jan has confirmed that those earning below RM4,000 a month will be given leeway when it comes to repaying their loan.

According to a report by The Malay Mail Online, those who are eligible for the exemption will have to update their income details with PTPTN by 25 July.

The move, said Wan Saiful, was in line with Pakatan Harapan's 100-day manifesto.

The date of the implementation of this move will be announced later, he further said.

Malaysians be like...
Not only that, Wan Saiful also told the news portal that he has requested for the Immigration Department to remove the names of 429,945 loan defaulters from its travel ban.

Despite all the leway, we really do hope that those who are still repaying your PTPTN loan would continue doing so because the agency must collect RM2bil annually to be sustainable, Wan Saiful revealed.

So, don't think advantage of PTPTN, yeah, guys? There are those who really depend on the loan to get through college.
