Conditions like no screaming when you're riding a scary roller coaster:

We laughed at the SOPs, but a couple of theme park bigwigs themselves have recently demonstrated that one can ride a roller coaster without screaming your lungs out.

Does it really work though?

The no-screaming policy has been adopted by the East Japan and West Japan Theme Park Associations in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.

In fact, Universal Studios Japan and Tokyo Disneyland are reportedly in full support of this initiative, mainly because the rides in their theme parks are not all that scary.

But what happens when you're about to tackle one of the world's scariest roller coasters? Can you be able to hold in your screams?

Fujiyama is the marquee roller coaster ride at the Fuji-Q Highland located at the Yamanashi Perfecture.

When it was opened in 1996, Fujiyama was the tallest roller coaster in the world.

It has an apex of 79-meters, which happens the eighth highest in the world, and it also happens to be the fifth longest ride in the world.

Bosses take a ride

To answer all your burning questions, Fuji-Q Highland has released a demonstration video titled "Example of How to Ride Thrill Rides in the New Style".

The video features two smartly-dressed Japanese men in face masks going through the turns and drops of the scary Fujiyama with no emotions at all.

As it turns out, the two men were Daisuke Iwata, the president of the Fuji-Q Highland theme park, and Koichiro Horiuchi, the president of the Fuji Kyukou rail and bus service provider.

The tweet also pointed out that Horiuchi, the gentleman in the neat suit, is afraid of heights, but he managed to sit through the entire roller coaster ride without making a squeak.
