The act didn’t go down well with many people especially in the middle of a pandemic.
The incident, which was broadcast live on television, was condemned by many with over 8,000 complaints being made to Nagoya City Hall, as reported by Mothership, Singapore citing various news reports.
The Nagoya mayor has apologised since and refused to take three months of salary due to his act.
