But one company in Johor Bahru decides to do some good by 'reuniting' families with their loved ones who are stuck in another country.
An emotional affair
Due to the restrictions imposed around the world following the COVID-19 pandemic, many families have been separated involuntarily as they are stranded in different locations.We've seen and heard heart-warming stories about these families who would do anything just to get a glimpse of their seperated loved ones:
Understanding this, a property developer in Johor Bahru decided to organise a ‘meet’ session for 20 families separated by the JB-Singapore Causeway.
According to a report by Mothership, the company, R&F, arranged a yacht to ferry family member nearer to the shore of Singapore so that they could see and wave to their loved ones stuck on the other side of the causeway.
It was clearly an emotional session, as many of the families can be seen carrying signs that read ‘Love you’ and ‘Miss you’.
R&F said in a Facebook post that these families have been living apart for more than 200 days, no thanks to the closure of the borders.
And due to the overwhelming response, R&F said in another post that they will be organising another session really soon.
