While it’s never wrong to crack a joke, not every topic is appropriate to make fun of.
Recently, a woman took to Threads to highlight what appears to be a disturbing trend emerging on TikTok among young users.

What’s alarming is that the trend seems to mock the recent school stabbing incident that claimed the life of a female student in Petaling Jaya.

In a series of screenshots, the trend shows kids, some even wearing school uniforms, joking about the violent incident with captions such as:
“If I confess, you better accept it if you don't want to get stabbed.”
“To those who get confessed to, you better just accept or you might just get stabbed,” said one.

Another said, “Ustaz Firdaus said, next time if someone confesses to you, don't reject them, just accept or they might kill you.”
“To all women, it's better if you just accept whenever a guy confesses, or you might get stabbed if you reject.”
According to the woman, she was deeply disturbed to see that many of the posts appeared to be made by underage students.
What shocked her even more was a screenshot suggesting that a religious figure had made a similar ‘joke’, which she felt contributed to the normalisation of violence against women.

It is understood that the woman has since reported the disturbing TikTok posts to the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC).
Needless to say, her post has garnered significant attention from other social media users, many of whom expressed frustration and disgust over the emerging trend.
