A mosque in Sungai Petani, Kedah, has recently gained public attention for offering a rather unexpected attraction—a full-blown theme park complete with lit slides and a huge ball pit.
Located at the Murtadha Dakwah Centre (MADAD), Masjid MADAD had taken the unique initiative in order to engage with the community and encourage kids to come to the mosque. It also aims to create a welcoming environment for families while integrating leisure with religious values.
In a TikTok video, the outdoor facility that houses the theme park is called Edukidz. Beyond the playground, the Edukidz area also features other amenities such as horse stables and a cat house.

To maintain the facilities, a small fee of RM19.90 per child is charged.
Besides that, Masjid MADAD also provides a free indoor playground within the mosque premises and a capsule hotel for travelling visitors.
It is understood that to avoid noise disturbance during prayer time, the theme park will be closed temporarily, and it will be accessible once again once prayers conclude.
Netizens divided
The facilities at Masjid MADAD sparked a range of reactions from many users online. While many applaud the effort, some raised concerns about whether such attractions could divert children's attention from religious practices.
Despite this, others joked that looking at such facilities, even some adults would probably join in on the fun.

“I've been there. As an adult, after I concluded my prayer, I also felt very excited to play. Now I have to fight with the kids to play,” said a user.
