Do you have a love-hate relationship with your job because of the lack of work-life balance?

Well, we are not surprised.

That is because a recent study ranked Kuala Lumpur at number 40 out of 40 cities around the world surveyed for the most holistic work-life balance.

See, we told you!

Rihanna knows best.
According to a report by Malay Mail Online, the study conducted by US-based mobile access technology company Kisi compared data on work intensity, institutional support, legislation, and liveability as they ranked cities based on their success in promoting work-life balance to their citizens.

It said that survey aims to be a guideline for cities to benchmark their ability to support the fulfilment of residents’ lives by improving the aspects of life that help relieve work-related stress and intensity.

The result was achieved after taking into consideration 20 factors under three main topics: society, institutions and city liveability.

Helsinki, Munich, and Oslo topped the list as cities which promoted the most holistic work-life balance while Buenos Aires, Tokyo and Kuala Lumpur took the bottom three spots.

To add to that, Kuala Lumpur was also ranked fourth in the list when it comes to the world's most overworked cities. Boy, it's no wonder KL-ites are not happy with their jobs at all.

In case you're wondering, Helsinki has the highest happiness score, scoring a full 100 marks, followed by Oslo and Zurich.

It is a little bit sad to see that Malaysians do not have a good work-life balance, so hopefully, local companies could soon see why it is important to keep their employees happy.
