Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) has been ranked the World’s No. 1 Low-Cost Carrier Airport, successfully defending its title from 2024.
Aviation data provider OAG highlighted AirAsia as the key contributor to KLIA's global ranking, with the airline operating the majority of international flights at the airport.

The ranking evaluates airports based on the number of potential connections between inbound and outbound international flights on their busiest day.
Meanwhile, Hong Kong International Airport was recognised for the most impressive growth in the same category, climbing 20 places to reach 4th position this year.
Ranked number 1 in Asia
In addition to being crowned the world’s top Low-Cost Carrier airport, KLIA was also ranked the No. 1 Airport in Asia.
KLIA outperformed major hubs such as Singapore Changi and Incheon International Airport to claim the top spot as Asia’s No. 1 International Megahub.
