The last thing we knew was that the victim was still in a medically induced coma, and the suspect was believed to have fled North.

As reported by The Star, the latest update is that the suspect was arrested in front of a private hospital on Jalan Bayam in Kota Baru, Kelantan, at 3 pm on April 15. The Kelantan Criminal Investigations Department made the arrest. The suspect was alone, and a scuffle ensued before he was arrested. The police also seized a firearm from the suspect, who was unhurt. He had managed to evade the authorities for more than 24 hours.

The suspect, who was clad in purple lockup clothes, was then brought to the Kota Baru Court Complex at 8:30 am (April 16) under heavy police guard. The man has now been remanded (the return of a person to custody pending trial or for further detention) for seven days. Magistrate Tuan Rais Imran Hamid from the Magistrate's Court in Kota Baru allowed the police application to be remanded until April 22 to allow further investigations into the case.

According to NST, the wife of the bodyguard and shooting victim said upon hearing the news, "I am grateful and relieved. May he receive appropriate punishment,” said Siti Noraida, who also thanked the police and all parties involved in the arrest of the suspect.
