It might not look like it, but we have some pretty talented actors here in Malaysia.

And one of them had just been nominated for several awards.

Second career nomination

Malaysian actor Bront Palarae will be competing for two awards at the Asian Television Awards (ATA) on 15 January 2021.

According to a report in News Straits Times, the actor has been nominated for the Best Actor and Best Actor (Digital) for the drama series 'The Bridge 2'.

Recognising talent."This is my second nomination for ATA after 'Eropah, Here I Come' directed by Bernard Chauly. I'm most honoured to be chosen, and I also represent the entire cast and crew of The Bridge 2,” he was quoted as saying.

The 42-year-old actor said the nomination proved that there were great talents in Asia and they just needed to be given more opportunities.

A host of nominations



Directed by TJ Lee, Jason Chong and Zahir Omar, The Bridge 2 was nominated for 11 categories at the awards.

The nominations include for Best Series, Best Adaptation, Best Supporting Actor (Wan Hanafi Su and Miller Khan), Best Digital Fiction, Best Actress, Best Actress-Digital (Rebecca Lim) and Best Actor-Digital (Ario Bayu).
