We''ve know for a long time that we have some bright young minds in Malaysia.

We can add a pair of siblings into the list.

The siblings from Johor have scored so high in their pre-university examinations, they have been placed in the top 4 per cent in the world.

Top of the world

According to a report by The Star Online, the feat was achieved by 20-year-old Ivan and 19-year-old Eugene Chong in their Australian Matriculation (AUSMAT) programme.

(In case you're wondering, AUSMAT is a one-year programme which is widely accepted for university admission worldwide for its high standards and quality of its curriculum)

Proud Asian parents.
Both students are from the Sunway College Johor Baru.

Ivan received an Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) of 96.7 in 2018, which saw him placed in the top 3.3 per cent when compared with other students around the world.

Eugene, however, managed to outdo him, receiving an ATAR score of 99.10, which places him at the top 0.9 per cent in the world.

That's super impressive!

Terrific duo.
“There is no short cut to good results, you have to be consistent and start revising every day from the beginning of the semester.

“I am also grateful that my lecturers were always available when I needed them,” Eugene was quoted as saying.

Congratulations, boys!
