Malaysia Airlines’ Kebaya Uniform Has Been Listed As “Most Beautiful Airline Uniform In The World”
Take a quick glance at any airlines’ uniform and compare it to our own national carrier’s official uniform, you’d probably agree that ours is way more vibrant and rich in culture.
Inspired by our classic kebaya and batik motif, Malaysia Airlines’ (MAS) uniform stood the test of time and remained unchanged for decades, making it one of the most iconic uniforms in Malaysia.
MAS’ kebaya uniform was originally designed by Institut Teknologi MARA’s (ITM) Faculty of Fashion in 1986 and was given a new twist in 1991. It remains as the current uniform.The uniform has changed four times since MAS’ inception on 1 October 1972 and the airline has no plans to revamp or introduce a new uniform design.
Well, it seems that we’re not the only one who thinks their uniform is such a timeless beauty.
According to a report by TV3, MAS’ kebaya uniform has been listed as one of the most beautiful airline uniforms in the world.
We bet that every Malaysian must be beaming with pride upon hearing this news; we know we are!
The uniform is not only symbolic to MAS, but it also represents our national identity and heritage.
