Malaysians are expected to experience a unique phenomenon tonight, as the biggest supermoon of the year makes its appearance.
According to reports, this phenomenon occurs when a Full or New Moon is near its closest approach to Earth. It is understood that the center of the Moon is less than 360,000 kilometres from the centre of the Earth when this happens.

As the Moon will be very close to Earth, a Super Full Moon appears about 16% brighter than an average Full Moon.
The Super Full Moon is expected to be visible in Malaysia at around 9:19 PM tonight, 5 November.
The next Super New Moon is expected on 16 May, 2026.
But that’s not all you might catch in the sky tonight!
The Malaysian Space Agency (MYSA) has reported that the Southern Taurid meteor shower will peak between 9 PM and the early hours of 6 November.
