You can run, but you can't hide!

Malaysia's most wanted man, Islamic State (IS) militant Muhammad Wanndy Mohamed Jedi, had reportedly been killed in the city of Raqqa last week.

The news was confirmed by Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar in a tweet on Monday:

According to a report by Reuters, Muhammad Wanndy was killed in a drone strike on the Islamic State-held city on 29 April.

Muhammad Wanndy's death first came to light when his wife, 28-year-old Nor Mahmudah Ahmad, posted a status regarding his whereabouts on her Facebook page last week.

“My Mujahid (a person involved in jihad), finally it is your time to go. I will remain here and carry on with the work you started. I accept this as fate," she wrote in the post.

Initially, authorities cast doubt on the report, but reliable intelligence has since confirmed the kill.

Born and raised in Durian Tunggal, Malacca, the 26-year-old Muhammad Wanndy left for Syria in 2015 and quickly became the top IS recruiter in Malaysia under the name of Abu Hamzah Al Fateh.

He was reportedly responsible for the bombing of a Movida club in Puchong which injured eight people back in June 2016.

In March 2017, the US Treasury placed him in the 'Specially Designated Global Terrorist' list, making him one of the most wanted person in the world.
