When was the last time you donated blood?

This man just set a record for having donated blood a total of 108 times within a span of 32 years. That's an average of three times a year!

For people who are afraid of needles, the thought of having your blood drawn once every three months every single year is absolutely jarring. But not for 56-year-old Ibrahim Abd Ghani.

The Terengganu man is currently a member of the People's Volunteer Corps (RELA). He first started donating blood in 1982 when he was serving in the Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM).

This man is an inspiration to all.
He told Bernama that he has since collected five blood donation books because he thinks life would be incomplete if he doesn't do his part to help those in need.

Ibrahim's most recent blood donation was at the Terengganu Blood Drive where he recorded his newest record.

If you were wondering whether donating blood this frequently would be detrimental to your health, don't worry, it is completely fine. You just need to wait at least eight weeks in between donations.

Donating blood is also very safe! Each donor's blood is collected using a brand new sterile needle that is discarded after one use.

After donating blood, most people would feel fine and only a small number of people would feel dizzy, have an upset stomach, or have bruise on the spot the needle was inserted.

There is always a first time for everything. So face your fears and try donating blood for the first time, and you'll understand why Ibrahim need it more than 100 times. You could save a life.
