According to a report by The Rakyat Post, Brelvenraj Kaur Rajwant Singh, who currently works as a satellite controller with MEASAT, will act as the country's National Point of Contact (NPoC) under the SGAC.

Backed by the United Nations, the SGAC is a global non-governmental, non-profit organisation which aims to represent university students and young space professionals to the United Nations, space agencies, industry, and academia.

Making a difference for the future

According to SGAC's website, the council works with leading space agencies including NASA, the UAE Space Agency and the Space Foundation.

As Malaysia's NPoC, Brelvenraj will work with other Asia Pacific NPoCs including from Australia, New Zealand, Phillipines and Thailand.

Responsibilities include working on space activities in the region, getting involved in policy discussions and contributing to activities related to the national space policy.

"I wanted to take the challenge of a new responsibility — as long as I can inspire more people to join space-based events for the betterment of Malaysia's space exploration in the future," she was quoted saying in the report.
