Detained after found in possession of a knife

The incident occurred during the Rain Rave Water Music Festival 2026, a large-scale, three-day music event that drew significant crowds. Police detained the woman after discovering that she was in possession of a dangerous weapon, identified as a knife, while attending the festival.

The arrest was part of heightened security measures implemented throughout the event. Kuala Lumpur Police Chief Datuk Fadil Marsus had previously stated that several individuals deemed suspicious were also detained as a preventive step to maintain public safety during the festival.

Police have not disclosed further details about how the knife was discovered or whether the suspect displayed any threatening behaviour at the time of her arrest.

Footage widely shared online captured a tense moment in which the woman was seen clutching a knife as members of the public tried to de-escalate the situation.
As the confrontation intensified, a man moved forward to subdue her, wrapping his arms around her as she fought to pull away, the weapon still clenched in her left hand. Other members of the crowd, along with security staff, rushed in moments later to assist.

An individual who recorded the incident said he had been searching for a friend when the woman suddenly revealed the knife and appeared to charge toward a nearby man.
