Mall in Kuching Throws Away 1,500 Bowls of Laksa Sarawak After Setting Record
Sarawak’s Plaza Merdeka recently entered the Malaysia Book of Records for their attempt to create ‘The Biggest Bowl of Laksa Sarawak’. The bowl contained an equivalent of 1,500 bowls of laksa, which the mall threw away. According to the event organiser, Debra Sim, the custom-made bowl of noodles was thrown away because it was “unhealthy for human consumption”.
However, news about the mall’s plan to discard the large amount of laksa quickly spread among the locals and many unhappy people criticised the organisers for wasting food that could have fed hundreds of people.
