Thankfully, the situation was quickly noticed by other commuters and Auxiliary Police personnel on duty.

As a safety measure, the power supply to the tracks was temporarily cut to allow rescue operations to be carried out. The male passenger was successfully rescued and brought to safety. He was later given preliminary treatment at the station's emergency room.

Despite a brief disruption, train services on the Ampang/Sri Petaling Line resumed at 6:52 PM after safety inspections were completed.

Meanwhile, RapidKL assured the public that passenger safety remains its top priority and reminded commuters to always follow safety instructions at stations.

Commuters are also advised to remain behind the safety line while waiting for trains and to never enter the track area.

"Those who are feeling unwell, dizzy, or uncomfortable while at the station are advised to seek immediate assistance from station staff or Auxiliary Police personnel on duty."

Netizens raise concerns over platform safety

Although the male passenger reportedly did not suffer any serious injuries, many social media users have expressed concerns about safety at train platforms. Despite repeated announcements reminding commuters to stand behind the yellow line, many users shared that they have witnessed people disregarding the warnings, especially during peak hours.

Meanwhile, other social media users suggested that the authorities install platform screen doors similar to those found at MRT and Monorail stations.

"This is exactly what I was thinking. Why don't all LRT lines, including LRT3, have safety doors like those at MRT and Monorail stations? They should have them too."
