Man Forced to Hide in Office Toilet for 6 Hours as Alleged Stalker Visits Him at Work
Writer of Islamic teaching books, Muhammad Fakhri, who has close to 200k followers on social media, recently shared his ordeal of being allegedly harassed by a stalker for two years.
In a long Twitter thread, he pleaded for her to “stop disturbing his life” as it had already been two years since she had started stalking him –– to the extent of sending him gifts and visiting him at the office, calling her “delusional.” He started off by saying that he did not want to embarrass her but that her behaviour was extreme and called her out in the post by sharing a screenshot of her Instagram profile.
It started when she relentlessly sent him dozens of messages on Instagram, wanting to get to know him better despite his refusal and saying he had already had a candidate to be his future wife.
Then things got alarming when less than a week at his new workplace, his alleged stalker sent gifts to his office from where she lived in Saudi Arabia. This included a prayer mat with his name stitched onto it, a bookmark saying, ‘Thank you for being part of my story’, as well as pictures of screenshots from his Instagram page. *Yikes*
December 2021.
Saya baru mula kerja tak sampai seminggu.
Dia hantar hadiah-hadiah dari Arab Saudi, tempat dia tinggal dan bekerja.
Hantar hadiah ke alamat pejabat pulak tu.
Saya rasa terganggu. Sampai ke tempat kerja pun dia berani.

Then unnervingly, she managed to get his new phone number which he had only given to his family and friends and started texting him on Whatsapp. This included a note directed to “all the girls out there…please do not disturb Fakhri any longer…he is not your partner.”
She even sent him her father’s home address and phone number, saying that whenever Fakhri was ready, he could meet her father as her father was looking forward to meeting him. It seemed that Fakhri had agreed to marry her in her mind.
Dia siap bagi alamat rumah dan nombor telefon ayah.
Suruh saya jumpa. Seolah-olahnya macam saya dah bersetuju untuk berkahwin dengan dia.
Delusional teruk. pic.twitter.com/0iHPmiEczQ— Fakhri (@fakhrifadzli) February 5, 2023
In a desperate attempt to put an end to the madness, Fakhri messaged her father on Whatsapp and explained what had happened which stopped her harassment –– but only temporarily. Then in May 2022 during a Hari Raya open house, his stalker got braver and visited him in person at his office. She followed him all over the place for six hours, forcing him to hide in the toilet.
Mei 2022. Rumah Terbuka Hari Raya.
Dia semakin berani. Kali ini sampai datang ke pejabat.
Dia ikut saya ke mana-mana sebab nak bercakap. Dalam 6 jam dia sanggup duduk dan tunggu.
Sampai saya terpaksa bersembunyi dalam tandas.
Gila weh. Psycho. pic.twitter.com/ICw6zjDpQm— Fakhri (@fakhrifadzli) February 5, 2023
Then in October, he had a class on religious Islamic texts and although he asked the organisers to cancel her registration, she showed up anyway. He said that for three hours, he was forced to control his emotions and act normally even though his stalker was in front of him, and he had to leave immediately as the event ended. Two days later, her alarming behaviour escalated, visiting him at the office and slamming a door violently in front of many people and then sitting in the staff area to wait for him.
4 Oktober 2022.
Fakhri was forced to ask her father to bring her home, and her father apologised repeatedly for her actions. He finally decided to make a police report to protect himself and those around him as he was “traumatised and afraid to go anywhere”. Even on social media, he was afraid as he knew that she would be stalking him.
She continued bombarding him with messages online, saying that “Anyway, we’re going to get married, right, Fakhri?” and asking him if it was someone else who had texted her father on his behalf. Every time he blocked her, she created a new account to stalk him. He was worried that as he was about to be married, she would continue hounding him and his new wife.
He also mentioned that although people stereotypically regarded male stalkers to be more serious than female stalkers, this matter was equally serious and made him tired, afraid, and traumatised. He also shared more screenshots of her questioning how they would get married as he had made a police report against her. Fakhri elaborated that although the police officers at the Bangi Police Station were helpful, they were unable to take any action as they could only do so if there had been physical harassment such as physical abuse.
Last October, Malaysia's Dewan Rakyat unanimously passed the historic Anti-Stalking Bill which covers physical and digital stalking in a voice vote after its third reading, but there is still a long way to go before it materialises in terms of actual law enforcement. Fakhri explained that this was why the bill had to be enforced to protect those like him, as in this social media age, everyone could potentially face similar types of disturbances.
He ended his thread by saying that he had suffered for two years and hoped that his stalker would receive treatment. He also shared another incident in which she cheated his phone number out of him by pretending to be an anonymous individual and saying that someone wanted to donate a Kindle to him.
Psycho punya perempuan.
Ni ke "aib" saya yang kononnya awak nak dedahkan?
Sebenarnya ni bongkarkan sifat manipulatif, delusional dan niat jahat awak.
Awak dm saya menyamar sebagai pihak 3rd party.
Hamba Allah kononnya. Ikhlas nak berikan kindle.
Biar saya spill chat. https://t.co/7JrcqtF0s0— Fakhri (@fakhrifadzli) February 5, 2023
He also thanked everyone who advised him to ignore her, saying that he also thought that it was the best thing to do in this situation.
We absolutely sympathise with Fakhri because it sounds mentally and emotionally exhausting! Another Twitter user also shared about common stalking behaviours and five types of stalkers to stay aware, folks!
Stalking is not a normal behaviour. Its a seriously disturbing crime! pic.twitter.com/cDBqj5NViQ— madbexer (@madbexer) February 5, 2023
