While we are all taking extra precautions to protect ourselves when we go out to buy grocery, one man probably outdid us all.

In fact, some would say that he was over the top.

Homemade 'hazmat' suit

A Terengganu man recently turned heads when he went grocery shopping in his own homemade 'hazmat' suit.

According to Bernama, the man known as Zamakhyari Khairiri chose to wrap himself up with a plastic garbage bag, complete with a mask, ski goggles and rubber boots.

Braving curious and strange looks he got from people who bumped into him along his journey, the 41-year-old engineer set out to complete his task.

Making sure everything is fine.
"In the current situation, I don't care what other people think, and in fact, this is a way I remind others on the steps that must be taken to curb the spread of the virus.

"In places like this (supermarket), there is a high risk of infection, and this is my small way of taking care of the safety of my family and the people around me, ” he told the news agency.

Zamakhyari, who hails from Kampung Bukit Payong, said he got his three children to help him put on his ‘protective suit’.

One thing’s for sure: he will stay safe from COVID-19 after all his effort!
