Do you know the old saying that age is just a number?

That phrase goes very well with the recent achievement of an 87-year-old Malaysian uncle who graduated from college with a degree in TESL (Teaching English as Second Language).

The inspiring story was shared by her granddaughter on Twitter via her handle @eikazulaikha_ and it instantly went viral on the social media site.“My grandpa got a bachelor’s degree in TESL at the age of 87 years old," @eikazulaikha wrote.

In fact, she said in her tweet that her grandpa initially didn't even plan on going to his own convocation, but he relented in the end after his family members persuaded him to.

"He just loves to learn and keep doing it, he didn't care about [the] degree," she wrote.

@eikazulaikha's tweet, which has since been retweeted more than 16,900 times, has inspired Malaysian netizens:

We hope that this uncle's success story will inspire you to do the same.

After all, if an 87-year-old grandpa can do it, what's your excuse?
