It looks like the education system is evolving once again, as the Ministry of Education (MOE) is set to introduce a co-teaching approach in classrooms under the 2027 school curriculum.

The initiative, which involves a new subject titled 'Alam dan Manusia: Pembelajaran Bersepadu pada Tahap 1', aligns with MOE’s goal of nurturing a generation of students who not only excel academically but also possess a strong sense of identity and high moral values.

Minister of Education Fadhlina Sidek said the co-teaching method aims to make the learning process more engaging by allowing teachers to be more creative and interactive in the classroom.

“In a co-teaching environment, it's not about assigning teaching aides. Instead, both teachers will work together in one classroom to ensure lessons are more effective and engaging for students."

"We are confident that the co-teaching method, which involves active interaction in the classroom, is the best way to ensure each student receives the attention they deserve, thereby addressing the issue of learning dropouts,” she said, as reported by Berita Harian.

In preparation for the new teaching method, Fadhlina said a pilot test involving 130 teachers has already been conducted.
