While it may seem like there's still a looooonngggg way to go before we can say we defeated the pandemic, there are small little wins during this battle that we can take pride in.

One of it is the vaccination rate in the country.

Great numbers

After being recognised as having one of the fastest vaccination rates in the world, we are now really close to achieving herd immunity.

The COVID-19 Vaccine Supply Access Guarantee Special Committee (JKJAV) has revealed that some 56.9 per cent of the country's adult population have completed both doses of the COVID-19 vaccination as of Monday (23 August).

In total, 13,315,774 individuals in Malaysia have received both vaccination doses, Bernama reported.

On top of that, JKJAV also shared that a total of 18,476, 589 individuals had received the first dose of the vaccine.

All in all, the cumulative number of vaccine doses administered to date is 31,792,363 doses.
That is actually great progress!

Let's continue to do our part, and if you have yet to register to get yourself vaccinated, please do so immediately.

Walk-ins still possible

For those of you who would like to walk-in to the vaccination center to get your dose, you can still do so at 13 vaccine dispensing centres (PPV) in the Klang Valley and Putrajaya.

The COVID-19 Immunisation Task Force (CITF) told The Star Online that they've noticed a slight decline in the number of walk-in vaccinations among Malaysians since the programme was introduced on 2 August.

"As such, walk-in for Malaysians in Klang Valley will continue at 13 PPVs," it said in a statement quoted by the news portal.
