M’sian Rider Slashed With Meat Cleaver After Honking at Another Motorcyclist

What was supposed to be a normal morning commute took a turn for the worse for a Malaysian rider after he was attacked by another motorcyclist along the motorcycle lane of the Federal Highway near Section 13.

The brazen attack was believed to have been triggered by the suspect’s dissatisfaction with the victim, who had reportedly honked at him for allegedly obstructing his path.

A video of the incident has since gone viral after being shared online.

According to Shah Alam OCPD Asst Comm Sarudin Samah, police were first notified of the incident through an emergency 999 call at about 8:19 AM. Investigations later revealed that the altercation had occurred at about 7 AM while the victim, a 45-year-old man, was on his way to work in Kuala Lumpur.

It is understood that after the victim honked at the suspect, the latter stopped by the roadside before allegedly attacking him with a meat cleaver.

The victim reportedly suffered injuries to his head, neck, and hands. He was taken to Shah Alam Hospital for further treatment.

Meanwhile, the suspect, a 43-year-old man, has been arrested.

The case is being investigated under Section 324 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt with a weapon. If convicted, the offender may face up to 10 years’ imprisonment, a fine, whipping, or any combination of these penalties.
