Newlyweds Bring Guests to Suki-Ya for Dinner After Wedding Ceremony
While many brides and grooms opt for catering services to feed their guests after the wedding ceremony, one Malaysian couple chose a different way to celebrate those who came to their wedding.
In a TikTok video shared by the bride, she and her husband choose to bring their guests to dine at a famous Japanese eat-all-you-can restaurant, Suki-ya right after the conclusion of their ceremony.
According to the bride, she didn't book in advance. Fortunately, at the time, the restaurant could cater for her and her guests. Based on the location tagged, the bride went to dine in at Paradigm Mall.
In the comments section, many TikTok users said they like the bride's idea as it's less fussy and more budget-friendly compared to hiring caterers and booking for an event space.
However, others wondered how she managed to get her parents to agree to the idea as it was rather uncommon.
“During my wedding, we went to dine at Dolly Dimsum but my mother and grandmother got mad at me.”
One user shared, “I did the same for my wedding. After we got married, we went home and had roti jala. We only booked for 30 pax and after that, we went for our photoshoot. We spent not more than RM2,000. But some family members keep asking for me to hold a feast so I told them to sponsor it.”
