Yes, we are all thinking the same thing: the progress of the COVID-19 immunisation programme has been slower than expected.

The good news is, the government is all ready to move forward.

Stage two, let's go!

The second phase of the National COVID-19 Immunisation Programme (NIP) will kick off on 19 April, Science, Technology and Innovation Minister (Mosti) Khairy Jamaluddin said.

New Straits Times quoted Khairy as saying that those who will receive the vaccine this time around will be notified via the MySejahtera app, phone calls and Short Message Service (SMS) beginning 5 April, two weeks before the programme is set to begin.

In the second phase, priority would still be given to senior citizens, the disabled and individuals with comorbidities.

Your turn is up, second phase!
Khairy added that apart from these groups, the National Security Council and International Trade are also discussing with the Industry Ministry (MITI) for the vaccine to be given to industries with more than 5,000 employees, including foreigners and migrants.

"We will have a public-private agreement with industry (for this purpose), especially those in red-zones and high-risk areas.

"I will announce the details when we finalise the cooperation with the companies," he was quoted as saying.

As we've mentioned time and time again, please get yourself registered if you haven't already. Time waits for no man, people!
